According to PUNCH NEWS, a 10-year-old girl, Chidinma, has been admitted at an undisclosed hospital after a couple – Eucheria Chukwuma and Jerry Oko-Oboh – allegedly beat her up and stabbed her in the private parts with a broken bottle. It was learnt that the couple and the victim’s family lived on Joshua Street, Agbabiaka, in the Ajangbadi area of Lagos. It was learnt that the couple assaulted the minor for allegedly fiddling with the vagina of their three-year-old daughter, Peace. PUNCH  Metro  gathered that Chidinma, who denied the allegation, had played with Peace at about 7pm on April 6. It was alleged that the toddler later cried and told her parents that Chidinma fiddled with her private parts. Angered by the complaint, 30-year-old Chukwuma, it was learnt, went to Chidinma’s mother, Ofia, demanding that Chidinma follow her to her room. A sad incident happened in Brazil as eight fans of Brazilian football club, Corinthians, have been reportedly shot dead on Sunday, April 19, 2015 ahead of the team’s semi-final match against Palmeiras, AFP reports. According to a Sao Paolo military police spokesperson, seven people were killed instantly while one other died in the hospital after unknown assailants stormed the club’s headquarters. It was gathered that the gunmen, numbering at least two, forced the victims to lie together before executing them. Senator Uche Chukwumerije, a former Chairman, Senate Committee on Education, is dead. He died on Sunday in a Turkish Hospital in Abuja at the age of 75. He was a three-time senator that represented Abia North and was first elected into the Senate in 2003. Chika Chukwumerije, son of the deceased told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a telephone interview that his father died of lung cancer at exactly 4.30 p.m., on Sunday. “We are trying to organise some things; he died at exactly 4.30 p.m., this evening. He died here in Abuja and was surrounded by his friends before his last breath. He has been an inspiration in ways I cannot explain,’’ Chika said. Chika also told NAN that burial arrangements would be communicated once it had been concluded.
