How APC House of Assembly candidate was killed in Akwa Ibom.

A House of Assembly candidate in Akwa Ibom State, Okon Uwah, was killed on Wednesday, March 18 while on campaign in Ward Three in the Ukanafun Local Government Area. Unconfirmed reports say that the deceased, who was a former Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, slumped at the residence of his in-law, one Godwin Udoko while holding a political consultation. According to an eyewitness, during the event, a disagreement began over how to share the consultation money dropped by Uwah, who is running for the Ukanafun State Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress. The youths reportedly became unruly and surged to the venue, however, Uwah, tried to move away from the ensuing stampede but slumped and was trampled by the surging crowd. Lekki bank robbery: Police claim to know the robbers.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Kayode Aderanti, has revealed that they have a lead on the robbers that stormed a bank in Lekki last Thursday. The police added that their investigations will spread to neighboring country Benin republic where the armed men were suspected to have gone hiding. The robbers during a gun battle with police officers, killed three policemen and a teenager.Aderanti who was at the scene of the robbery incident, described the death of his men as unfortunate, adding that they (policemen ) were not even attached to the bank where the gunmen stormed but acted gallantly to prevent the hoodlums from carrying out their devilish act. On Sunday 15th March 2015, Prophet T.B. Half-naked women protest in Ekiti,for the freedom of their children.

Some angry women in Emure Ekiti have protested against the arrest of over 30 of their children. The youths were reportedly arrested by the police in connection with the alleged attempt to burn the palace of Elemure of Emure Ekiti, Oba Emmanuel Adebayo, who’s a retired Assistant Inspector General of Poilce. According to reports by Punch newspapers, the women, some of whom appeared half-naked, held leaves and sang hate songs against the monarch, demanding the release of their children. It was reported that the brouhaha started last Monday, after a group of angry youths of the community trooped out to the streets to protest against power cut by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, as well as the disruption of banking service from the only bank in the community for over seven months. Fire guts Oritsejafor’s church’s guest house (PHOTO).

The fourth floor of the Word of Life Bible Church’s guest house otherwise known as Eagle Nest Guest House belonging  to the National President of the  Christian  Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, was torched by fire on Sunday afternoon. The building is located near the church auditorium at Ajamimogha, Warri,  Delta  State. It took the combined efforts of the men of theDelta State Fire Service, fire service men of Shell Petroleum  Development Company  (SPDC) and that of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to put out the engulfing inferno. The police in Lagos State have arrested an Islamic cleric, Abdullahi Omobolaji, a.k.a Alfa, for allegedly having unlawful carnal  knowledge of a 17-year-old teenager, Idowu (pseudonym), in the Agege area of the state. The incident happened on Bakare Lane where the victim lived with her mother and siblings. Punch Metro  learnt that although Alfa lived in Abule Egba, he had a room apartment on Bakare Lane where he received clients, who seek him out for spiritual help. He was said to have taken advantage of the minor and slept with her many times, from November 2014 until the act was uncovered by the victim’s mother in March, 2015. Bloody Sunday, 45 Villagers Including Women & Children Killed In Benue By Fulani Herdsmen .

At least 45 villagers were killed in a dawn raid on Sunday by suspected herdsmen in Benue State, the Agence France Presse (AFP) quoted the Police and a leg­islator as saying. “I confirm that 45 people, includ­ing women and children, were killed this morning in an attack on Egba village… of Benue state by suspected herdsmen,” state police spokesman Austin Ezeani told AFP. Several others were injured in the gun and machete attack,” he added. Hundreds of people have been killed in attacks and reprisal at­tacks between farmers and ethnic Fulani herdsmen in the past few years in the state. A state parliamentarian from the local area, Audu Sule, gave a death toll of about 50 from the attack. “Around 50 people were killed in Egba village in my constituency in an early morning attack. As many as 11 people were killed on Sunday in a road accident in the southern Algerian province of Tamanrasset, local media reported. The accident happened when a bus collided with a tractor-trailer in the locality of In Salah in Tamanrasset province, local media quoted a medical source and firefighting services as saying. The bus was heading to Tamenrasset from the coastal province of Bejaia. Such tragedies are not rare on highways linking the north and the south of the country. While it is still unclear why this tragedy occurred, over-speed, fatigue in night driving and lack of visibility are the common causes for such deadly accidents.
