The fourth floor of the Word of Life Bible Church’s guest house otherwise known as Eagle Nest Guest Housebelonging to the National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, was torched by fire on Sunday afternoon.
The building is located near the church auditorium at Ajamimogha, Warri, Delta State.
It took the combined efforts of the men of theDelta State Fire Service, fire service men of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and that of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to put out the engulfing inferno.
It was gathered that the fire started at about 12:55p.m just after the second service of the church was rapped up.
In a statement signed by the head of the church media team, Pastor Victor Abraham and posted in the official Facebook account of the church, there was no record of casualty.
He stated that: “At 12:55pm today, Sunday 15th, March 2015, the Eagle House Building, particularly the Top Floor “Eagle Nest Guest House” caught fire.
“The incident took place as the second service ended. Fortunately, the combine forces of SPDC, NNPC,and Delta State Fire Services arrived promptly at the scene and put out the fire.
Please note, no life was lost and there were no injuries to members or personnel, damages are only on the top floor of the eagle house building which is the “Eagle Nest Guest House.”
As regards the cause of the fire, Pastor Abrahamsaid in the statement that it was still being investigated.
Nigerian Tribune, however, gathered from sources that there was anxiety and trepidation during the fire outbreak while the affected floor has been badly damaged.
Thank God that no life was lost.
