Julia Roberts' mum Betty Lou Motes has died aged 80 after battling lung cancer, according to reports.

It comes just one year after the actress ' half-sister's suicide.

Tragic Nancy Motes, a former production assistant on the TV show Glee, was found drowned on February 9 by her fiancé John Dilbeck in Los Angeles after a drugs overdose.

Now In Touch Weekly reports there's more heartache for Julia as her mum passed away in the early hours of this morning.

Betty reportedly died at St John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California.

According to the site, she had been living with Julia, her husband Daniel Moder and their three children in Los Angeles.

Doctors reportedly found a tumour on Betty's lung during an MRI scan in November 2013, and revealed months later after Nancy's death.

Julia's biological father Walter Grady Roberts died of throat cancer when the star was just 10-years-old. He had been divorced from Betty since January 1972.

She later married Michael Motes who became Julia's stepfather as she was growing up.

Police Discovers 147 Bombs In Konduga.

The Borno State Police Command has revealed that it has uncovered a total of 147 bombs in Auno village in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State. Speaking to newsmen during a press conference in Maiduguri on Tuesday, the Borno State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Clement Adoda, said the bombs were uncovered at a location of about 27 kilometers from the Maiduguri, the Borno state capital. He said, “I am glad that at about 9am on Sunday, 147 unexploded cluster ordinances were recovered at about two kilometers away from Auno village, near Jakana, Konduga Local Government Area of Borno state.” Adoda added that a combined team of bomb disposal unit, policemen and troops, attached to Jakana general area, led by Capt. Daniel Yakubu, sighted the explosives, recovered and destroyed them in good time without injuries or damages to lives and property. The commissioner further explained that the state bomb disposal team had also recovered unexploded ordinance, suspected to have been launched
